lity History Month starts on Monday 15 November. To coincide with this\,
we are restarting our Disabled students community group.</p>\n\n<h3><stro
 ng>Discussion forums</strong></h3>\n\n<p>We are hosting four discussion f
orums. We are inviting students to attend to discuss their experiences in
the University. This includes the following topics\, as well as whether
we should introduce &#39\;neurodiversity&#39\; to the name and purpose of
  the group:</p>\n\n<ul>\n	<li>14:00 - 14:15 Digital accessibility: Access
ible teaching materials\, access to lecture recordings\, alternative asse
 ssment for all modules.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</li>\n	<li>14:15 - 14:30 Physical a
 ccessibility: Lifts\, rooms\, transport.&nbsp\;</li>\n	<li>14:30 - 14:45
TLSR: Being put in place.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</li>\n	<li>15 minute break</li>\n
<li>15:00 - 15:15 Teaching and learning experience: Slides being release
 d before lectures\, equipment\, reading materials\, lecture timings (brea
 ks).&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</li>\n	<li>15:15 - 15:30 Culture</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>We
will use the&nbsp\;information gathered at these discussions to inform ou
r work with the University to make learning a more accessible and inclusi
ve experience for everybody.</p>\n\n<h3><strong>Further event details</st
 rong></h3>\n\n<p>Both disabled and/or neurodiverse students\, and other s
tudents with an interest in the topic are invited to join the discussion.
&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<p>To ensure the events are accessible to the greatest num
ber of students\, there will be both in-person and online discussions.&nb
sp\;While shorter and less structured than the main session\, the online
session will still provide an opportunity to share your thoughts on all t
 he topics listed above.&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<ul>\n	<li>In-person 14:00 - 15:30.
&nbsp\;Students can join to discuss as&nbsp\;many topics as they like.&nb
 sp\;</li>\n	<li>Online discussion 15:30 - 16:00.&nbsp\;A Microsoft Teams
link will be supplied before the event.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>Refreshments wi
 ll be available.</p>\n\n<h3><strong>Accessibility</strong></h3>\n\n<p>If
you have any access or dietary requirements we should know about\, please
let us know using the booking form.</p>\n\n<h3><strong>Community groups<
/strong></h3>\n\n<p>We&rsquo\;re planning to restart&nbsp\;our eight comm
unity groups for students who identify as - or ally with - people with pa
rticular backgrounds.&nbsp\;</p>\n\n<p>They will be a place for students
to create a community&nbsp\;of likeminded people\, while providing an opp
ortunity to run campaigns and hold events.</p>\n\n<p>The community groups
will also help us to communicate&nbsp\;students&rsquo\; experiences and
opinions to the University.</p>\n\n<p>A big part of our work is boosting
the student voice and campaigning on issues that matter to you. To do tha
t effectively\, we need to understand students&#39\; viewpoints and exper
iences. That&#39\;s where community groups come in!</p>\n\n<p>We will be
helping to set up the groups in the first instance\, with students later
 leading the groups&rsquo\; activity.</p></body></html>
