Join UEL Indian Society for a vibrant celebration of Holi - the festival of colours!
Holi is a joyous Indian festival, symbolising the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring. Participants come together to smear each other with colorful powders, dance to traditional music, and enjoy festive foods. In Indian culture, Holi holds great significance, fostering unity, friendship, and the spirit of togetherness. It transcends barriers of caste, creed, and religion, promoting harmony and inclusivity.
At our event, supported by East London Students' Union, we'll kick off with dazzling introductory performances from 15:40, setting the stage for a lively Holi celebration under the stretch tent. Experience the thrill of throwing vibrant colors with friends and great music, creating unforgettable memories.
We'll be serving chai from 15:00, and The Edge will be selling themed Holi celebration food for lunch until 16:00 - why not get into the spirit with a delicious Indian meal or cup of tea?
After the main event, head to the West Building for a screening of English Vinglish as part of the Students' Union's Near and Far Festival celebrations. Join us to unwind and enjoy a classic film that captures the essence of the festival.
We'll conclude the festivities with a Holi after party at the Underground Bar - a chance for everyone to come together and celebrate the richness of Indian culture and the vibrant festival of Holi.
