Curious about your blood type? Want to make a real difference in just a few minutes? Come along to our blood donation recruitment event delivered in partnership with NHS Blood and Transplant.
This event gives staff and students the opportunity to sign up as future blood donors, while also discovering their blood type through a simple finger-prick test.
In under five minutes, you can learn valuable information about your blood, how rare it is, and how it’s used to save lives — including supporting people living with sickle cell disease, who rely heavily on regular blood transfusions.
What's involved?
A trained professional will take a tiny sample of blood using a quick and safe finger prick. Your likely blood type results will be available in less than two minutes. You'll also receive a brief explanation of what your blood type means, as well as a free pen and blood card type to say thank you for registering.
Most people can give blood. If you’re in good general health and aged 17–65, you could register on the day. NHS staff will also help you to book your first appointment.
Whether you’re motivated by curiosity, community, or compassion, this is your chance to learn something new and help save lives.
