    INFORMATION SESSIONS

These sessions are open to all students who want to learn more about becoming a student officer or a school representative.

    Fri 24 February, 17:00-17:30
    Mon 27 February, 16:30-17:00
    Tue 28 February, 13:30-14:00
    Wed 01 March, 14:30-15:00
    Tue 07 March, 13:30-14:00

    WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS?

You should read about the roles, what work you will do, and who is eligible to apply.

You can attend an information session where we will explain more about the work that student officers and school representatives do.

You should read the candidate handbook to ensure you understand the role.

You must complete a nomination/application form. Click [here] for the student officer form and [here] for the school representative form. Log in using your University username and password. You are not required to submit your statement (manifesto) at this stage.

You must attend a rules, statement and campaining training session. Attendance is compulsory. We will teach you about the rules of the elections, how you can write a good statement/manifesto, and how to organise a campaign.

After this, you must submit your statement and a photograph before the submission deadline.

While you do these things, we will check your eligibility. This means completing the 'good standing' checks outlined in the candidate handbook.

Every student who has completed the nomination form correctly and meets the criteria will automatically become a candidate.

    HOW DOES CAMPAIGNING WORK?

The campaigning period is when you promote yourself to the student community and try to convince them why you should be elected for the role you have applied for.

Candidates can start campaigning at 00:01 on Mon 13 March. Campaigning before this date will lead to disqualification.

WHEN AND HOW DOES VOTING HAPPEN?

Voting takes place online between Monday 20 and Thursday 23 March 2023. Students can log into the voting portal using their University ID and password.
