SAM MASABA

Dear Student,

My names are Sam Masaba and I am standing for the candidate position of the Vice-President (Professional Services). I am a postgraduate student studying the NGO and Development Management program.

I am currently one of the University of East London Student Union (UELSU) Tech Team support staff. I may have had the privilege of providing support to you either at Stratford or Docklands Campus. I have provided support to the student community from 2016-17 to date during term time.

I am standing and seeking your vote that will Empower Me to Empower You to achieve your future career aspirations by ensuring service delivery response time to your support enquiry is improved.

  1. WIFI Access: Student access to UEL WIFI is not constant and needs addressing. I will work with UEL Management on addressing the challenges with accessing the network regardless of which device a student is connecting with.

  2. Enrolment Process: Enrolment enquiry from a student needs to be addressed better to minimise interference and impact with academic learning and access to university services.

  3. Tablet: Tablet distribution and support process need to be improved, I will coordinate with UEL Management to reduce the impact on academic learning to a student as the device is provided to enhance online academic learning.

  4. Kortext: Kortext access is essential and student login details need to be active, I will work with the UEL Management to improve service delivery time.

  5. Moodle Access: Moodle is central to a student's academic learning and accessibility is crucial, I will work with UEL Management to improve student service restoration for continuity of academic learning.

  6. UEL Software Access: As a student, you may need to access core software on a personal device to enhance your academic learning. I will work with the UEL Management to ensure the appropriate software and guidelines to access are made available.

The principal reason you are at UEL is to complete your academic program with the support of all the academic services provided. I, Sam Masaba seek your vote for the position of Vice-President (Professional Services) to "Empower Me to Empower You" achieve not just your academic goal but also enable you to engage with the additional services available at UEL to build your employability profile before and after graduation.

Thank you for your Vote
