Apply to be a school representative

Here’s everything you need to know about eligibility to apply, how to apply, and the process to confirm yourself as a candidate.

    Who is eligible?

You must have completed one year as a course representative at level four or above. This can have been before or including 2023/24, or you can be a current course rep who was appointed in autumn 2024.

If you are in level four, you must have passed all assessments in semester A (autumn), and be on target to complete level four in semester B (spring).

If you are in level five or higher, you must have completed level four, and have passed all assessments in semester A (autumn), and be on target to complete your current level in semester B (spring).

    How to apply

You must attend a training and preparation session. Attendance is compulsory. We will teach you about the roles, the rules of the elections, how you can write a good statement/manifesto, and how to organise a campaign.

We have vacancies for the School of Arts and Creative Industries and the School of Health, Sport and Bioscience.

    To apply, you must:
    - attend a training session (details on previous page)
    - complete the application form by 17:00 on Tuesday 29 April
    - submit your statement by 17:00 on Tuesday 29 April (form will be supplied to those who attend training)
