Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park Lodge, E3 4PX

Join the Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park for a fascinating walking tour uncovering the stories of people laid to rest in one of London’s most atmospheric green spaces and one of London's Victorian Magnificent Seven Cemeteries.

As we take a gentle stroll through the Cemetery Park’s beautiful woodland paths, we’ll bring to life the tales of East Enders buried here between 1841 and 1966m, when the Cemetery Park (known locally as Bow Cemetery) served as the final resting place for over 350,000 people.

From Victorian pioneers and war heroes to everyday Londoners whose lives tell stories of hardship, resilience, and community, this walk offers a unique window into the social history of the East End.

Expect a mix of intrigue, tragedy, humour, and hope - all woven into the rich tapestry of this remarkable place.

The group will meet at Cemetery Park Lodge. This is the red brick building straight ahead when you enter the cemetry via the main gates on Southern Grove, E3 4PX. Google Maps
