Disabled Students Community Group Launch

Monday 24 November 2025 - 4pm - 5pm
Students' Union, Stratford

This event is part of Disability History Month at UEL.

Every student has a right to access. Where’s yours?

Event Introduction

As part of Disability History Month at East London Students’ Union, we’re launching the Disabled Students Community Group with a bold, student-led, conversation-based event focused on your rights, your experiences, and your voice. The session will be led by Dipika Gokulnath, Inclusion Officer.

If your support has been delayed, ignored, inconsistent, or confusing, you’re not alone. Come talk to us or just listen. No pressure. No speeches. No judgement.

This is not a meeting. This is the start of a movement.

What to Expect

A relaxed, drop-in café-style space where you can:

• Share your experiences with accessibility at UEL

• Join informal chats with us

• Take part in fun, accessible interactive games

• Meet other disabled students

• Shape future SU campaigns and policy work

You can talk. You can listen. You can play. And you’ll be contributing to Disability History Month in a meaningful way.

Why You Should Come

· Your insights will help improve accessibility at UEL

· Your voice will directly shape campaigns and university policy

· You’ll help build the Disabled Students Community

· This is a safe, open, inclusive space especially for those unsure if they “belong”
