Join us for an unforgettable Holi celebration full of vibrant colours, music, and fun!
Be sure to wear a white shirt to make those colours pop and get ready for a colour fight celebration at the Docklands campus.
Join the lively dhol performance from 15:30 - 16:00 and feel the beat as you immerse yourself in a sea of colours. After the performance, the colour fun continues until 17:00, with our DJ spinning tracks for an epic celebration. Dance, play, and let the colours flow!
After all the excitement, students can head to SportsDock for a shower to wash off the paint. Please note, there is no entry into university buildings while covered in paint, and no washing in the toilets.
Make sure you collect your tickets under the tent in Docklands Square from 13:00 – 15:30. Doors close to the event at 16:00 so if you don’t collect your ticket by 16:00 then unfortunately you won't be allowed into the event! You must be a student to sign up and bring your student ID card to gain entry to the event.
Each attendee will receive two bags of powder per person included in their ticket upon entry. Colours are on a first come, first served basis.
Goggles and face coverings are available at the colour desk, upon request. Drinking water and eye wash solution is also available. Note that this event has a no re-entry policy!
There'll be plenty of staff on hand to keep the event safe and running smoothly. If anything happens which makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, let us know and we'll endeavour to help.
Holi is a traditional Hindu festival that celebrates the arrival of spring, the triumph of good over evil, and the joy of love and friendship. It is often referred to as the "Festival of Colours" because people throw vibrant powders at each other, symbolizing the breaking of social barriers and the unity of all. The colour fight represents the joy and freedom of life, as participants celebrate together, filling the air with colour, music, and dance. It’s a time to let go of past grievances, embrace new beginnings, and spread happiness!
